Ambassador Charles Shapiro @ Rotary Club LA September 19th

This Friday at the Rotary Club of Los Angeles:

Ambassador Charles Shapiro

Location:  The City Club on Bunker Hill

333 S. Grand Avenue
Los Angeles
, 90071

Whether you are directly involved in Trade or not, it is a cornerstone of the Southern California economy.  As evidence, the Port of Los Angeles is the busiest and largest seaport in total tonnage in the U.S.  In addition, the recent completion of the Alameda Corridor has helped to speed goods from the port of Long Beach and Los Angeles to the transcontinental rail network.
Ambassador Charles Shapiro is leading the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs’ Task Force for the Free Trade Agreements with PeruColombia and Panama.
Previously Ambassador Shapiro was Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Department of State’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs (2005-2007) and U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela (February 2002 until August 2004).  Ambassador Shapiro was the recipient of a Presidential Meritorious Service Award in 2005 and has received various Department of State performance and honor awards.  In 2007 the Government of Chile decorated him with the “Orden al Merito.”
Ambassador Shapiro's talk will address the issues surrounding Free Trade Agreements and his experience as the US Ambassador to Venezuela.

Looking ahead, our speaker will be Arvind Manocha, COO, Los Angeles Philharmonic.
Be sure to visit our “New” Program Website for more information on all upcoming programs.
